13 October 2022

We continue to build up our international partnership. On October 13, a unique person visited the Rotary Club of Almaty - Evgeny Bazhov, representing the Malaysian Rotary Mandarin Club from Kota Kinabalu.

Evgeny Bazhov is an investor, entrepreneur, plenipotentiary representative of the Financial and Banking Association of euro-Asian cooperation, lives and conducts business in China since 2004. He speaks Chinese, English and Japanese and is deeply immersed in the culture of Asia. Holder of the Executive MBA degree.

He is a business coach of Executive Coach ACC, ICF for executives of global Corporations from the Fortune 500 list. Author of three books published in the CIS, the USA and China on doing business. His path as an entrepreneur and unique experience as a business consultant for Chinese owners and company executives gave him the opportunity to understand the needs and way of thinking of the Chinese. The author shares this knowledge on the pages of his books. Since 2015, he has been a member of Rotary , the Chinese-speaking club of Malaysia "Mandarin".

Evgeny acted as a guest speaker at the RCA charity dinner with a very lively and vivid story about the peculiarities of business, culture and mentality of China, Malaysia and southeast Asian countries. And he presented his books:

• Made in China: how to conduct online business in Chinese

• The Dark Side of Business in China

• Coaching: Tao for Growth

• E-commerce: Chinese experience

• Negotiations for those who are afraid: Chinese secrets

Despite the immensity of the topic and the concise regulations, the author for the allotted time showed a deep knowledge of the cultural code of the PRC and the entry points to the markets of Southeast Asia.

He also cited the vivid facts of the formation of Rotary in China and Malaysia. For example, in China, with a population of 1.4 billion, there are only 11 Rotary Clubs, 5 in the process of formation. The oldest of them in Shanghai was created in 1919. But a lot of Lions clubs are in many ways similar to Rotary.

In Malaysia, the Rotary network is exemplary - more than 120 clubs for 33 million people. The first club opened in 1930.

We, in turn, presented to the guests of the meeting the main project of Rotary "Almaty Fountains" - a network of Drinking Fountains Rotary and the main architectural fountain of Almaty. The project was presented by Ricardo Marini, an Italian architect and urbanist who designed Panfilov Street in Almaty. Now the city fountains of Rotary.

On the part of the Rotary Club of Almaty, the project is headed by Amir Kabulov , the famous architect and designer of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The guests were also told about the history and prospects of Rotarianism in Kazakhstan, about RCA projects in partnership with the city akimat and about global grants in support of children's healthcare.

On one platform we have gathered representatives of business of all directions, culture, creative industries, politics and media. There were guests from the fraternal Rotary clubs of the Russian Federation - Saratov - Dmitry Lugovoi and Natalia Larina, Yakutsk - Ayaal Eghinov.

In conclusion, official. Our president Altynai Beisembieva presented a guest from sunny Malaysia with the Rotary pennant of the Almaty club.

A surprisingly warm welcome and many bridges of cooperation. Rotary networking in action!
