Today, on February 08, 2023, a very productive meeting of delegates of Rotary Rotaract Club of Almaty and the Rotary Intercountry Committee (ICC) Kazakhstan – Russia with the leadership of the Kazakh-British Technical University on partnership in the development of the Rotaract Almaty youth movement took place.
Top managers of the country's leading university were presented with a detailed presentation of the world humanitarian organization Rotary International and the Rotaract Club of Almaty in persons, facts and events. We discussed the unique system of Rotary networking, patronage and cultural cooperation, the development of international exchange programs within Rotary. Particular attention was paid to volunteer principles and the system of well-established social elevators Rotary for student and working youth, the levels of the Rotary ecosystem for all generations - Rotary Kids (children's movement), Interact (school leadership), Rotaract (student bench and post-stuz socialization) and Rotary clubs - as the top stage of public service and humanitarian interaction.
We got acquainted with the structure of student self-government of this university and the high level of internal volunteer movement, learned about the activities of international organizations - partners of KBTU and identified many points of contact and mutually beneficial cooperation.
We believe that the background, mission and prospects of Rotarianism in Almaty and its youth direction will bring Kazakhstani students to a new level of international integration and networking. Win-win strategy for all in action: the winners are students who receive from Rotaract entry points to the international career ladder, the constant drive and action of a global youth party, a high culture of patronage and business ethics and the atmosphere of a worldwide youth community - one on top of any borders and jurisdictions. It is no coincidence that Rotaract is called a world student and youth fraternity.
Moreover, the Rotaract Club of Almaty is initially colored by the intercountry flavor and is embodied under the auspices of the ICC, which we will describe in more detail in the following publications.
Universities will also benefit, which will receive additional ratings and recognition through Rotary. And employers who, thanks to Rotarian programs, will attract the best personnel.
At the end of the event, our partners at KBTU were awarded the Pennant of the Rotary Club of Almaty as a pledge of future cooperation.
